how does the enviroment influence you?

I was born here in the city and so I have seen everything change. Like the technology and school learnings. I have seen how my friends change and how we grow up time after time and every time the things we have for our own goods get easier and bigger. The environment can change everything. Like fashion when there are new shoes and everyone wants them and I get influenced and want does shoes. Also when something happens and all my classmates have the same attitude maybe angry, sad or happy I also get influenced by the moods of the people. We have to get adapted to our environment because if we don´t then we will be rejected to society. It´s good to be different but always normal because some people don´t get the meaning of it and they get rejected and bad influenced by the society and that’s not good.

The Best Day Of My Life!!

I went to my friends house in la antigua for the weekend and we met Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. We were at “El mercado del Carmen” buying some bracellets. When suddenly we saw a really tall and handsome guy. My friend told me he looked really familiar like if she already met him. We started to secretly chase him and we found out that he was not alone he had a girlfriend but she looked really old. Then we got closer to them, and when we finally recognized them we started to freak out I almost fainted it was shocking. We took a photo with them and they signed my blouse. I really couldn´t believe my eyes after looking at Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore in real life. It was amaizing. Im allways gonna remember that day. THAT WAS YHE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!

MY PASSION

I love art. My passion is to illustrate and paint. I always get distracted at class and draw until the ink of my pen gets empty. HAHA! For me drawing is my escape from the world I love it. Im going to SCAD these summer so I can figure out what I want to do the rest of my life. When I draw I feel like I am in peace, I feel relaxed and stressed out. When I get a lot of homework I get very stressed, especially in math so I allways take a few minutes and draw . I get inspired  so I draw and I show my feelings in my paintings. One time I really needed to draw and paint so I made a huge painting on the wall of my room. One day I want to show the world my paintings. Painting is my life and im never gonna change that.

HOW DNA IS USED IN CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS

DNA has revolutionized the way of criminal justice systemthat investigates crimes. When suspects DNA matches samples from a crime scene or a DNA databank it virtually guarantees a conviction. With the DNA that matches the suspects it is 100% that he or she is guilty of the murder. The hystory of DNA in criminal investigations reveals a profile unmatched by any other forensic technology. Like for example in the JonBenet Ramsey case, the suspects where 3, the mom, the dad, and  his brother Bruce.

JonBenet Rasmery was known as the “Beauty Queen with Heavy Make Up”. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 6, 1990. When she was nine months old, the family relocated to Boulder, Colorado. Her first name was a portmanteau of her father’s first and middle names, John Bennett; her middle name was the first name of her mother, the late Patricia “Patsy” Ramsey. JonBenét was enrolled by her mother in a variety of different beauty pageants in several states. Patricia Ramsey funded some of the contests that JonBenét participated in, as well as rock climbing and violin lessons. Her active role in pageants was highly scrutinized by media following the murder. From the day in 1996 when JonBenet was found dead in the basement of her home in Boulder, Colorado, the Boulder police and a large proportion of the world’s media believed that her parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, were responsible for her death.

Suspect number one is Bruce (JonBenet brother), because in the DNA they only find out it was a white male with blonde hair. The dad is broen hair and it is a male so the court continues in sesion since December 24, 1996. The mom died in 2006 because of a cancer in the ovar, the sad thing is that she died  not knowing who was the killer of her beautyfull daughter.

PIONEER MOLECULAR BIOLOGIST (Rosalind Elsie Franklin)

Born at London, England, July 25,1920.

She worked as a scientist and she discovered the structure of the DNA. Because she was a woman she wasn´t recognized or that fameous as she should be. She was one of the few girls who attended school in London that taught physics and chemistry. She decided to become a scientist at age 15 but her dad didn´t suport her because it was really weird to see a scientis girl, at that time most scientist were men. Her father was against her to become a scientist so he wanted her to be a social worker.

In 1938 she went to Newnham College, Campbridge, graduated in 1941. She wanted to graduate as fellowship but she quited in 1942, she worked at the British Coal Utilization Research Association, where she studied fundamental studies of carbon and graphite microstuctures. After Cambridge se spent three years in Paris at the Laboratoire Central des Services Chimiques de L´Etat, where she learned X-ray diffraction techniques.

She dicovered the structure of the DNA and she was never recognized as the woman who descovered the structure od DNA. Instead other scientist where recognized with the big workt scientis Rosalind Elsie Frankling discovered. They won prizes but she didn´t.

She died at London, England, April 16,1958.

Walking in Water

Almost anyone can tell the difference between a liquid and a solid. A liquid flows. A solid stays put. You pour a liquid and push a solid. The difference seems as clear as water and ice.

But some stuff doesn’t fit neatly into either group, like the goop you get by dissolving cornstarch in water.  The concoction looks like a liquid, and can be stirred gently with your hand or a spoon. But appearances are deceiving: Fill a swimming pool with the stuff, and you can run across the surface without getting wet. It’s a good party trick — or a launching point for a science fair experiment.

“If you were to punch, you might break your wrist,” Scott Waitukaitis, a physicist from the University of Chicago. He and other physicists often study the behavior of different states of matter to understand natural forces.

Iron versus climate change

A team of scientists traveled by ship to an enormous whirlpool in the ocean near Antarctica. Their goal was to find out if a risky strategy for fighting climate change might work. The plan: Dump iron in the water to trigger the growth of organisms called algae. Then let the algae soak up carbon dioxide, a gas that contributes to global warming. Finally, watch to see if the organisms drift to the seafloor.

This iron fertilization of algae appears to have been successful, an international team of researchers reports in the July 19 issue of Nature. Algae indeed removed carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, then sank deep into the ocean. Some scientists still aren’t sure if iron fertilization is a good idea, but this study is one step toward showing that the tactic for fighting global warming holds promise.
